- 3½ tablespoons butter salted or unsalted
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups beef broth or stock
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the flour once all of the butter melts.
Stir continuously for about 2 minutes until a thick paste forms, forming a roux.
Slowly add the beef broth to the saucepan in small amounts. Stirring or whisking continuously to incorporate ingredients.
Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix to combine.
Taste the gravy and add more seasoning if needed.
