Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • All you need to make toast is a sheet pan! So for those like myself without a toaster, this is perfect. Plus, an oven is more likely to be in your kitchen than a toaster.
  • It's perfect for feeding a crowd. If you have to make toast in bulk, a large sheet pan fits quite a bit of bread!
  • There's two methods. If you are making my sheet pan eggs, you can make toast in the oven at the same time. However, if you just need a quick fix, you can use the broiler and have toast within minutes.

Tips and Notes

  • Make sure the sheet pan is placed in the middle oven racks. Placing them too high or too low will make them toast unevenly.
  • Depending on the pieces of bread you use, some may need to be pulled out of the oven early. The smaller pieces then to toast faster.
  • I like my toast darker than my partner. This method allows us to keep an eye on the toast until they're toasted to our liking. Just pull a couple out and continue to toast the rest for variety.
  • You can use this technique to toast English muffins, bagels, and bauguettes as well! You'll Just have to keep an eye on them as they take less time to toast.

What are some topping ideas?

For a quick breakfast, you can mash some avocado onto the toast, spread some jam or peanut butter on top, or top it with an egg. You can also simply butter them with some unsalted or salted butter! I like using garlic and herb butter for extra flavour.

What bread makes the best toast?

Denser and moist bread tends to make better toast as they hold up well in high heat. Bread such as sourdough, Challah, and ciabatta make for great toast but plain white bread toasts wonderfully as well!
