Why You'll Love This Air Fryer Recipe
- These air fryer ravioli are so crispy while using only a fraction of the oil compared to fried ravioli. However, they are still just as crispy without dealing with hot oil or grease.
- It's so quick and easy to make with only a handful of ingredients. It's super straightforward, and most of the ingredients are pantry staples for me.
- These air fryer toasted ravioli are so irresistible. Sometimes, I just eat it all on my own instead of sharing it! I'm obsessed.
Ingredients You'll Need
- eggs — to make the egg wash with.
- panko crumbs — use unseasoned panko crumbs as you'll be adding seasoning yourself. I love panko breadcrumbs more than traditional breadcrumbs as they're crispier and lighter.
- parmesan cheese — for that salty, savoury taste.
- seasoning — I use garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
- mini ravioli — I use refrigerated three cheese mini ravioli, but you can use any filling. I personally love the hot, cheesy filling!
- oil spray — you only need a bit to make these air fryer ravioli crispy!
- basil — I garnish my air fryer ravioli with some basil, but you can skip it.
- marinara sauce — you can use a store-bought or homemade marinara sauce to dip your crispy ravioli in.
How To Make This Air Fryer Ravioli Recipe
- Make the egg wash by whisking together the egg and a splash of water and set aside (no more than 2 tablespoons).
- In a separate bowl, mix together panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, garlic powder, dried basil, salt, and pepper, and set aside.
- Dip the ravioli in the egg mixture.
- Then, transfer the ravioli into the panko mixture until coated.
- Grease your air fryer basket lightly with oil spray.
- Place as much of the coated ravioli in the greased air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd the air fryer. Spray the ravioli with oil spray.
- Air fry the ravioli for 7 - 10 minutes or until it's golden and crispy on the outside.
- Garnish with more grated parmesan and fresh basil and serve with marinara sauce on the side.
Recipes Variations
- Add some cayenne pepper to the panko crumbs for a little bit of heat.
- Swap the dried basil for Italian seasoning.
- Use a different ravioli filling.
- Use regular-sized ravioli and add an extra 1 to 2 minutes to the cooking time.
- If using frozen ravioli, do not thaw beforehand. Simply add an extra 2 to 3 minutes to the cooking time.
Tips and Notes
- I prefer freshly grated parmesan as it melts much nicer than pre-grated parmesan.
- There's no need to flip the ravioli in the air fryer basket as there are gaps in the basket where the hot air can circulate through.
- Not a fan of marinara? Dip the air fryer ravioli in ranch, garlic sauce, or pesto.
- If you have leftovers, place the toasted ravioli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- To reheat leftovers, simply add them back into the air fryer and air fry until warmed through.
